About Rosanne Licciardi
Rosanne Licciardi, a multimedia artist with a classical music and theater background, was born in Rochester, NY where she headed an award-winning graphic design studio. In 1991, she began a series of African music nights (Soiree Africaine) turning them into cultural events with drum and dance, working with artists from the Brazilian and Senagalese ballets, and soukous artist, Loketo from Zaire..
When she moved to North Carolina in 1995, she co-produced the first online trade show for entrepreneurs and small business; trialed new marketing concepts and achieved several firsts, for an international adult company banned from much of the media. She also kept her finger in the fine arts as a member of a cooperative art gallery which then led to a solo exhibit in Clayton, NC.
In the summer of 2010 she retired and moved to New Orleans. It was time to leave Raleigh and go where she always knew she was headed eventually. The Jazz and Heritage festival drew her there for many years, and now she would make it permanent. At least that was the idea. A gallery and several shops in the French Quarter displayed her work.
Music was also important as it is the basis for her art. At a piano tribute honoring James Booker she met Don Scott a blues guitarist from Minnesota. Music and minds met and in 2012 she left New Orleans for Chatfield, MN where she now resides for five months of the year. The rest of the time she enjoys a life of travel and music with extended periods in New Orleans and Zihuatanejo, Mexico, all unique influences on her spirit and psyche. You can see this reflected in her art.
As music comes to the forefront again, Rosanne's latest passion is cajon drumming as she now joins her husband playing gigs on the road fully living up to her nickname of Gypsy. This is the section about me.
